Syria

* As fighting continues in eastern Syria, from Daraa in the south, to Aleppo in the north, and east, to the insurgent "capital city" of Raqqa and further on, to Deir ez-Zor, a report from fighting in the Ildib Mountains, near the port city of Latakia, indicates that Syrian government troops have killed dozens of suspected foreign ISIL troops.

India

* Security forces killed a suspected militant in a shootout in the West Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya State. The militant was believed to be part of a group on a recruiting mission for the ANLA/GNLA guerrilla group.

* Two IEDs exploded near Polleramma temple at Bachuvaripalem in Prakasam district of the southern state of Andhra Pradesh today, injuring four persons.

* Security forces arrested a wanted Naxalite commander, Kanithi Paparao (aka, 'Vijay'), in the southern state of Telangana. Paparao is wanted in connection with over sixty separate criminal cases.

* A self-styled Naxalite "platoon commander" was killed in a shootout with security forces today, in the east-central state of Chhattisgarh, today. A large arms cache was reportedly uncovered during the operation.

Cameroon

* Four worshipers were killed in a suicide bombing at a mosque in northern Cameroon on Monday, a security source said, five days after a similar attack left 12 people dead.

Republic of the Philippines

* Power grid operator National Grid Corporation of the Philippines said Monday a bomb exploded near a transmission power in Lanao del Sur province, aggravating the power situation in Mindanao.
