* The Federal Police Command announced on Thursday, that 28 ISIL elements were killed during military operations in the area of Husaiybah, east of Ramadi.

* On Thursday, a local source in Nineveh Province revealed, that the so-called the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIL) has released new videos featuring executions of its fighters in Mosul who escaped from the latest battles in Anbar, Salahuddin and other areas, while expected that ISIL released these videos in order to terrify the civilians, and also to send a warning to the rest of its members and fighters.

* Islamic State militants claimed responsibility for a suicide car bombing outside Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi's residence in the southern city of Aden on Thursday that killed at least six people.

Cameroon

* Two suicide bombers died on Thursday when they targeted a school in northern Cameroon, local officials said, the latest attack in the central African country which is struggling to contain violence blamed on Boko Haram militants in neighboring Nigeria. This follows yesterday's dual suicide bomber attack in the town of Chibok.

* A major tragedy avoided on Thursday as two bogies of the Jaffar Express were partially damaged in an explosion near railway tracks in Mithri area of Balochistan's Sibi district.

* Three policemen were injured, one of them critically, when unidentified persons hurled a grenade at them during a patrol in Assam's Dima Hasao district in the early hours of the 28th, a police officer said.

Republic of the Philippines

* Police and military authorities in Basilan and Sulu were placed on high alert following bombing attempts there on Wednesday and Thursday. Superintendent Jerome Afuyog Jr., officer-in-charge of the Isabela City Police Station in Basilan, said an improvised explosive device was recovered near Mabuhay Trading along Roxas Ave. in Isabela City around 3:25 a.m. Thursday. He said the bomb – the exact type of which has not been specified, was disrupted through the use of water disruptor.
