Clearly, events move quickly. As a result, MilitaryGazette is staying on top of multiple issues for you, our valued readers. Thus, a somewhat different format for a SITREP.

In the aftermath of the Brussels attacks, which MilitaryGazette is still studying, the civilized world is on high alert, as a wave of bomb and WMD threats (some real, many false or outright fake) swept around the world, grounding nearly a dozen aircraft in India this morning, as well as in Pakistan.

Next door, in Bangladesh, a bomb was detonated at a polling station during a heated argument, while sectarian violence led to a bloody murder.

Meanwhile, fighting continued unabated in ongoing operational zones, including another attack, the second in three days on US Marine forces, the earlier attack killing one and wounding several more, near the town of Makhmur, south of Mosul, some 405km/250mi north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

And finally, in the Philippines, an Army bomb disposal unit safely detonated a roadside bomb near Maguindanao, on the southern island of Mindanao.
